The Photography Show 2017

Ruth Burgess - Event Manager

Ruth BurgessRuth joined The Photography Show team in July 2016 having spent the last 10 years in publishing and events, and is thrilled to be part of it. She loves meeting visitors and exhibitors face-to-face, the camaraderie of the events world, and gets a buzz out of seeing things come together.

Growing up, Ruth thinks she may have been Britain’s most photographed child, since her dad was – and still is – never without his camera, something which has given her a love of photography. Working on the show has inspired Ruth to dust off her own camera, so don’t be surprised if you see her lurking at the back of the stages trying to pick up some tips! Cue lots of pictures of her Labrador…

Richard Macey - Sales Manager

Richard can't wait for Photography ShowRich IV and is already in training with the dog on Ashdown Forest. He's had a great time speaking to exhibitors old and new between shows and is looking forward to show build and the curtains going up on the Saturday morning. "There's going to be tons of great stuff for people to discover, try out and buy as always and plenty of new companies on board".

Having been involved in sales of all kinds for twenty two odd years now, three on the Photography Show, Richard feels that events are his thing as he likes to meet his customers and can see the benefits of his customers meeting theirs in the same way. It also beats sitting down and being quiet. Something that he is not very good at.

Hazel Soper - Marketing Manager

Hazel has worked within the events Hazelsector for ten years, starting with training seminars, then moving to conferences and on to exhibitions. Marketing events is her passion - she loves the fast pace and variety that comes with the job and is excited about The Photography Show and the creativity, inspiration and dedication that surrounds it.

Her first job was with a pro photographer taking photos at equestrian events and developing film in a mobile lab and her dad worked for a camera and film manufacturer for 25 years; photography has been part of her life for a long time and she hopes that The Photography Show will drive her to become even more involved!

Rebecca Gordge - Marketing Coordinator

This will be Rebecca’s second year Rebecca Gordgeworking on The Photography Show and she’s really looking forward to getting back onsite in March! Marketing events has always been her dream job as she loves the fast paced environment, and the satisfaction of seeing an event come together from start to finish.

Since joining the team in 2015 she has been trying to learn more about photography and after finding her Grandad’s old camera in the roof is currently determined to learn to take better pictures using film. This hasn’t been very successful so far though, and has resulted in a lot of money spent on developing blank films!

Hannah Benson - Sales Executive

Hannah has recently joined The Hannah BensonPhotography Show and is excited to be part of the largest annual photography show in Europe. With a sales background spanning 15 years Hannah has working in security, retail, publishing, events and now The Photography Show. She loves the broad spectrum of companies and products which relate to the imaging industry and the creative ways they all work.

Photography was her passion in her early teens however, she admits that although she loved her old analogue camera, she was never in the running for Photographer of the Year.

With 2017 being her first year of the show she's very excited to experience the buzz first hand.

Her motto: No selfies unless the dog is with you, then it's on!

Madelene Andersson - Event Coordinator

The 2017 show will be Madelene’s Madelene Anderssonsecond since joining The Photography Show team after spending the past few years coordinating events in her native country of Sweden. Madelene has years of experience from both tourism and retail but is passionate about all things event related, and has worked at both the London Olympic Games and the UEFA Women's Euro Championships.

Madelene is very excited to be involved with The Photography Show again and is looking forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors to Hall 5 and seeing all the new features come to life on the turquoise carpet in March 2017.

Amy McCluskie - Good Results PR

Amy works for Good Results, the Amyagency employed by The Photography Show back in 2015 to handle the press and social media for the 2016 event and again for 2017.

Amy, along with the rest of the PR team at Good Results come armed with plenty of exhibition experience and look forward to making sure it is THE event that everyone is talking about in the world of imagery and beyond.

Andrea Hurst - Operations Manager

Andrea HurstAndrea is an experienced Operations Manager who works on a variety of consumer and B2B events, both in the UK and internationally. She is the person who makes things happen. You will find her on-site running around the hall checking the build-up or in the Organisers Office where exhibitors, contractors and show teams go to ask, “how do I”?!

Her favourite part of the event is walking into the empty hall the day before build-up starts, knowing what hard work required to get the event open but also knowing the sense of achievement everyone is going to feel over the next week. Her least favourite part is watching all the stands come down during de-rig and the start of the post-show blues.

Tegan Morris - Marketing Assistant

As the newest member of the team, Teganthis is Tegan’s first Photography Show. Since leaving university in 2015, Tegan has had an array of different jobs both in the UK and abroad. An internship at the BBC gave her an insight into the marketing and events world, and this coupled with an amateur interest in Photography was what encouraged her to apply for the role.

She is excited to be a part of the largest annual Photography Show in the UK and can’t wait to see the latest from the industry and meet lots of visitors and exhibitors in March - hopefully gaining some insight into how to improve her own photography skills at the same time!

Cassandra Grant - International Development

Cassandra has worked on The CassandraPhotography Show since its launch in 2014, and has worked in the events industry for the past ten years. She absolutely loves it.  Being a photography enthusiast herself,  The Photography Show is the perfect event for Cassandra and onsite, if you can’t find her, it's because she's temporarily escaping her responsibilities and watching a Super Stage session or finding out what she can buy.

Cassandra brings a number of vital things to the team. She is the ideas person and the person who manages to keep a cool head when times get tough, but most importantly, Cassandra keeps the team stocked up with sweets throughout the show.

Jonny Sullens - Head of Events

Jonny has worked on The PhotographyJonny Show since it launched in 2013 and first ran in 2014.

This year he is excited about seeing 360 degree photography and VR really take the show by storm and, as in previous years, he is going to enjoy watching all the 'unboxing' moments that take place around the show because visitors simply can't wait until they get home to check out their show bargain.

He is a Brighton and Hove Albion supporter and is hopeful that this is the year they finally make it into the Premiership. Cue usual play off disappointment!
