Speaker line-up

This year's speaker line-up included photographers and filmmakers; best in their field. Specialising in everything from social engagement to photography business, long exposure to macro, they shared their expertise with visitors throughout the four days.

Richard Ansett

Richard Ansett (born 1966, British) is a traditional portrait photographer who has balanced an artistic practice and commercial career for over 30 years. His has an undimmed fascination with other people’s lives and an equal passion for the medium of photography itself. Richard has worked for most major national and international publications and advertising clients and has exhibited worldwide. His images have been acquired by of some the most prestigious permanent collections including the National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian and Bibliotheque Nationale de France.

He has won 1st prize in the single portrait category of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards for a commissioned portrait of the artist Grayson Perry. He won the Arte Laguna Prize in 2013 for an image of an autistic boy from a series shot on a residency in Ukraine. His personal series of gay couples ‘Ron & Roger’ was awarded 1st prize at Moscow International Foto Awards 2014. He was awarded 1st prize at Prix de la Photographie’11 for a series FAT created as a personal series whilst on commission and his portrait of a child survivor of the Grenfell Tower fire won the People’s Choice Award at the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2019, which was shot whilst on commission and unpublished.
