Speaker line-up

This year's speaker line-up included photographers and filmmakers; best in their field. Specialising in everything from social engagement to photography business, long exposure to macro, they shared their expertise with visitors throughout the four days.

Mike Browne

In his 20s, Mike Browne worked as a digger / truck driver. In his own words, he was a keen hobby photographer, but wasn't very good at it! The journey from there, to having clients around the world today was long - but very fulfilling; after leaving his job and going travelling, he re-trained as a photographer.

Since 1993 Mike has photographed commercial properties, hotels, food, products, PR, travel and hundreds of weddings. He shoots for individuals and companies from world class organisations such as Jet Aviation who build private jets and the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, to hotel groups and chefs.

Mike has made promotional films for Pentax, Samsung, Olympus and Tamron, he’s been presented to the President of Romania and is in Petapixel's list of Top Ten Best Photography Trainers. He now runs workshops the world over, and has a YouTube channel with over 236,000 subscribers.

Mike asserts that cameras do not take pictures - photographers take pictures and have to take more responsibility for their image making and will be reverse engineering a couple of images to prove his point. He also suggests there are only three camera controls you truly need.
