James Clifford Kent

Photographer

James Clifford Kent is a London-based photographer whose work moves between the intimate and the monumental. Built on lasting relationships, his documentary practice brings a quiet tenderness to subjects from NHS wards to moments of social change and cultural icons. He works with a steady, human focus, centring compassion and emotional connection, attentive to everyday details and gestures that reveal deeper narratives. Featured in BBC News, The Guardian and The Times, he has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts and other major institutions. He is the author of Aesthetics and the Revolutionary City (2019) and is currently working on Yuma—his first photobook.
