Denise has been a full time Owner, mentor and Photographer at Lensi Photography for 13 years.

She started in event and portrait photography after leaving a full time job in the NHS, her portfolio has now expanded to cover genres including campaigns, sports, fashion, weddings, photojournalism, music and corporate PR / marketing.

Versatility in photography has been part of her success, where she describes herself as a photographer; understanding the principles of framing, lighting and relationships in order to execute the various genres she shoots, rather than a photographer of one particular genre.

Although she was advised against this approach at the beginning of her career, to date, this has led to having photographed some of the world's most well known people such as Barack Obama and Usain Bolt.

Denise covers events such as London Fashion Week and the BAFTAs, and has a client list that includes The BBC, Starling Bank and Gumtree. She has worked as far afield as Mexico and Rwanda.

Her work has been published in Vogue, The Independent and The Guardian, and her art exhibited at The Mac Birmingham and Harris Museum Preston.

Denise guest lectures at various Universities around the UK.

In 2022 she has enjoyed some notable accolades including being a finalist in the World Sports Photography Awards, chosen as 1 of the UK’s leading Black Entrepreneurs to attend the Bey Luncheon (Beyoncé’s Lunch), chosen as a tutor on the Reframe Project a creative mentoring project by The Southbank Centre and Apple, and chosen as 1 of 50 Creatives in the UK to attend The Cannes Lions Festival by BlackOut.

Denise recently became a Doctor of the Arts through an honorary PHD from The University of Wolverhampton and continues to mentor and train emerging photographers.
