Angela Nicholson
Angela Nicholson is the founder of SheClicks, a community created to support and encourage female photographers. SheClicks is a welcoming space where women can learn, share knowledge, ask questions and enjoy photography, whether they shoot for pleasure or work professionally. Membership is free and includes access to webinars, events and The SheClicks Women in Photography Podcast, alongside a website packed with photography news, reviews and practical advice.
Angela has been reviewing cameras and photographic equipment since early 2004. Over the years, she has held senior editorial roles including Technical Editor at Amateur Photographer and Head of Testing across Future Publishing’s photography titles, such as Digital Camera, Professional Photography, NPhoto, PhotoPlus, Photography Week, Practical Photoshop, Digital Camera World and TechRadar, and Reviews Editor for Camera Jabber.
SheClicks is centred around a lively and supportive Facebook group, designed for women at every stage of their photographic journey, from beginners using a phone to experienced photographers working with high-end kit. Angela launched the group in August 2018 and it has since grown to more than 15,000 members. Alongside the online community, she also organises free webinars and in-person meet-ups.
More recently, SheClicks has expanded to include workshops, giving women the opportunity to learn, shoot and build confidence in a supportive group of like-minded photographers. These workshops take place across the UK and overseas, with trips designed to combine photography tuition with shared experience. An eight-day wildlife safari in Kenya is planned for November 2027, offering participants the chance to photograph wildlife in one of the world’s most iconic locations while being supported every step of the way.
