A state of imagination

Glasgow native Colin Prior has always had a fascination with the natural world, leading him to a career in photography that has spanned four decades and multiple continents. Perhaps most famous for his stunning mountain landscapes, Colin is a firm proponent of the magic of stills, believing it's not what's in a photo that counts, but where it takes you - the reactions it triggers, memories and emotions it evokes. In this talk Colin will discuss three of his recent book projects, beginning with 2020's Fragile, which documents birds' eggs in incredible detail, in diptychs with their natural habitat; followed by The Karakoram - Ice Mountains of Pakistan, a project Colin worked on for a period of 23 years. Finally, he'll give a taste of what's to come in his next, and probably final book, which focuses on Scotland's Atlantic coastline. Take this opportunity to hear from one of landscape photography's most dedicated and passionate advocates, as Colin describes his adventures, experiences, inspirations and photography philosophy.
