UKBFTOG
About UKBFTOG — UK Black Female Photographers
UKBFTOG (UK Black Female Photographers) is a vibrant, award-winning UK-wide community created to uplift, connect and celebrate Black women in photography. Founded in 2017 by Jemella Ukaegbu, the organisation now brings together emerging, mid-career and professional Black female photographers across genres — from portrait, fashion and documentary to street, landscape and editorial photography.
Our mission is to provide support, inspiration and professional opportunities in an industry that has historically lacked diversity and representation. Through regular meetups, educational workshops, portfolio reviews, photo walks, public exhibitions, and collaborative industry experiences (including press and red-carpet assignments), UKBFTOG fosters community, confidence and visibility for its members.
Members also benefit from being part of the UK Black Female Photographers Directory, showcasing their work so they can be discovered and hired for projects across the UK.
