The unconventional journey of a photographic innovator
From capturing the iconic chaos of an Eric Cantona ninja kick at Crystal Palace to lighting up stages around the world as a stand-up comedian, Danny’s journey defies expectation and redefines innovation in photography. A movie shoot, with long, quiet days, sparked a profitable venture in buying and selling photography equipment online, and resulted in Danny rediscovering his passion for photography. Back behind the lens, he faced a familiar challenge; the compromise between bulky, stable tripods and small, wobbly alternatives. Determined to find a middle ground, he pioneered a new era in tripod technology—focusing on modular functionality, versatile configurations, and a flair for design. His company, 3 Legged Thing, shattered industry norms by introducing colours, multiple-section centre columns, and three detachable legs as standard, setting a new benchmark in camera support systems. In this keynote, he will share his extraordinary story and unveil his visionary outlook for the future of modern tripod photography—a field where innovation meets practicality, and artistry meets engineering.
